This coffee comes from the Gayo highlands, in the Aceh province of northern Sumatra. A mountainous terroir renowned for its rich and complex coffees, revealed here by a precisely executed washed process. A sweet, round, and indulgent cup, designed to appeal to a wide range of coffee lovers.
In the cup, chocolate dominates, carried by ripe fruit and sweet spices accompanied by a pleasant sugary sensation. The texture is round and comforting; the acidity remains moderate, just enough to maintain balance. The finish is warm and lingering, with indulgent notes that keep you coming back for more.
The name Triple Pick comes from an attentive selection of cherries and beans, a sorting process that removes under-ripe fruit to ensure a uniform raw material. The G1 grade, used for Indonesian coffees, corresponds to a selection of beans with a very low defect rate. Grown around Lake Tawar, at high altitude and on volcanic soils, this lot benefits from slow maturation, which gives the sugars time to develop.
The Gayo Triple Pick Washed G1 is well-suited to gentle methods such as V60, Kalita, or Chemex, which bring out its chocolatey and fruity notes. In a French press, its texture becomes fuller-bodied and more enveloping. A coffee that doesn't try too hard, simply letting its terroir speak for itself.
