Interview with Rafaëlle

Hi Rafaëlle, how would you describe yourself in a few words?
"Passionate, curious, adventurous, and joyful."

How long have you been with Torréfactorie? How did you end up here?
"For 1 year and 3 months! I ended up here thanks to Marco. I came to the store for a coffee machine and left with an interview."

What field are you specializing in and why this choice?
"I’m studying business management, then I plan to specialize in international business, because I want to make my entrepreneurial project a reality: creating a company dedicated to the import and export of coffee, in order to establish lasting relationships with coffee producers around the world."

Where does your passion for coffee come from?
"Since I was very little, coffee has always had a special place in my life thanks to the love my parents have for it. But it was at 14, while tasting a cappuccino in a small café in Montreal, that my true passion was born. Since that day, I have been fascinated by the world of coffee, its culture, its aromas, and the history it carries around the globe."

If you had to choose only one coffee for the rest of your life, which one would it be? And why?
"If I had to choose a single origin, it would be Sidamo, because I love it regardless of its roast, its blend, or the drink it is used in. For my drink of choice, I would say a black cold brew, because no matter the season, drinking a cold brew makes life better — yes, really! It’s savoring summer with every sip! 🙃"

And your biggest dream, the one you hold closest to your heart?
"My biggest dream is to explore coffee plantations in the four corners of the world, meeting passionate producers and unique cultures. Each trip would nourish my vision of a coffee company that is responsible, human, and connected by this common passion: coffee."

Finally, if you could share a message with our customers, what would it be?
"Everything is better with coffee!"
