Interview with Livia

Hi Livia, how would you describe yourself in a few words?
"I am a sensitive, ambitious, and sociable person. I experience things intensely... with everything that comes with it: moments of happiness, but also moments of self-reflection."

How long have you been part of Torréfactorie? How did you end up here?
"I am starting my fourth year at Torréfactorie. It was regular customers who mentioned that the atmosphere and energy of the place would be a good fit for me. They were right: from my first day, I knew I wanted to stay."

What field do you specialize in?
"I am studying criminology at university because I have always been fascinated by human beings and how our society works... or doesn’t. This discipline allows me to better understand the injustices and inequalities of the system. I want to be part of the change, to make these realities understandable to everyone, and to help those who need it to rebuild themselves."

Where does your passion for coffee come from?
"I’ve always loved coffee, but it was at Torréfactorie that this passion really took shape. Discovering the complexity of a bean, its origins, its subtleties... it became a real passion. A memorable moment for me would be my first summer here, when I participated in creating the summer menu. I felt like a child again, as if I were making magic potions."

If you had to choose one single coffee for the rest of your life, which one would it be? And why?
"I would choose an iced drink. It’s a creative, colorful coffee, full of nuances, different every time. I love finding the perfect balance between flavors to offer the customer and/or my colleagues a unique experience."

And your biggest dream, the one you hold closest to your heart?
"My biggest dream is to make a difference in people's lives by giving a voice to those who don't have one. Through my criminology studies, I would like to be able to help those who are too often forgotten to be heard and understood. Working at Torréfactorie has taught me to listen, to be present, and to see the value in every encounter. Behind every coffee served, there is a story, a smile, a shared moment. These small interactions remind me why I chose a field centered on people: because, sometimes, even a simple gesture or sincere listening can make a real difference."

Finally, if you could share a message with our customers, what would it be?
"Thank you all for making Torréfactorie such a warm and unique place. It is a real pleasure to prepare your coffees every day and to share these precious little moments with you. See you soon for a great coffee ☕️!"
